Membership Benefits

As an Ikebana International (I.I.) member, you will receive periodic Chapter newsletters informing you of meetings and other events, beautiful I.I. floral art magazine from Tokyo containing photographs of ikebana floral arrangements of many different schools and information on activities of chapters around the world.

Membership also entitles you to exhibit ikebana arrangements throughout the year at a variety of venues.  These include the Northwest Flower & Garden Show at the Seattle Convention Center in February, Cherry Blossom Festival at the Seattle Center in April, Ikebana International Seattle Chapter Annual Exhibition at the Seattle Asian Art Museum in May, and Japan Fair at Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center in September.  Also, you may volunteer to present ikebana arrangements periodically at the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Asian Art Museum.

Members are also eligible to participate in the Ikebana International World Convention and Regional Conferences worldwide, with opportunities to share ideas about ikebana, and most of all to enjoy our motto “Friendship Through Flowers” by making new friends around the world.

I.I. Seattle Chapter No. 19 annual calendar is from July 1 to June 30. Annual membership dues are also from July 1 to June 30. Your membership will be confirmed by sending the Membership Application and membership fee (about $75 a year — fluctuates upon exchange rate) to the Membership Chair; once received, the application will be reviewed and approved by the Board of the local Seattle Chapter.
